Pilates Mat Classes

All classes are closely monitored, in a friendly and fun environment. The exercises are developmental so you progress through the various stages of exercise as your strength and stamina increases. Pilates is a non-competitive exercise, however group classes do provide that extra motivation. Various equipment is also used in the classes such as stretch bands, overballs, foam rollers, magic circle and spiky balls.

Pilates is a  workout that relies on strengthening the postural muscles which stabilse the torso.  By correcting muscle imbalance, faulty muscle recruitment and bad habits, the body is brought back  into alignment.  Pilates avoids the muscle and ligament damage associated with many fitness regimes.  It also plays a key role in rehabilitation programmes for sports injuries as well as helping to improve back and neck problems.
